Khorne: Painting: Half way to completing the Cruor!

The Daemon-Primarch Angron was accompanied to Armageddon by 12 Bloodthirster bodyguards, the Cruor Praetoria. I've now completed 6 of them, half way there! (Although the next 6 will all be of the bigger size, and I haven't made Angron either, so really I'm much less than half way there. Ah well.) I'm quite tempted to field the 6 of these as a 1,500pts Khorne Daemonkin Unbound force...

Khorne: Battle Report: My first 1000pt Khorne Daemonkin game!

So, last night I fielded 2 Bloodthirsters, 2 Soul Grinders with Phlegm, and 2 squads of Bloodletters (each with a Bloodreaper). I went up against an Eldar army: an Avatar, a Farseer, a Wraithlord, a squad of Dire Avengers, a squad of Jetbikes with a Warlock, a squad of Swooping Hawks, and a Wave Serpent.

Khorne: Army List: Khorne Daemonkin thoughts & sample lists

So, Codex: Khorne Daemonkin? I love it! Basically, it contains every unit that I wanted to use from Codex: Chaos Daemons. Plus lots of other units from Chaos Space Marines. What's not to like? When you look at it from the perspective of a Khorne Daemon player, these are the key changes:

Khorne: Battle Report: The 1st War for Armageddon begins: 2 skirmish battle reports

War first came to Armageddon in a spate of urban unrest, riots, and uprisings. The fires of rebellion burnt bright across Armageddon Prime and Secundus. Whilst the hives were burning, in the Equatorial Jungle a series of small skirmishes occured that the Imperium never even knew about.
Deep in the jungle lies an ancient pyramid, the tip of a Necron stasis tomb. The Necrontyr of old despised the powers and creatures of the warp, and it was they who built the Cadian Pylons to stop the Eye of Terror from consuming the galaxy. On Armageddon, a small force of Bloodletters was sent to ensure the Necron pyramid would not be activated, in order to prevent them from resisting Angron's arrival. However, the first of the Necron forces were already rising, and a desperate clash ensued...

Khorne: Army List: 500pt Bloodletter force

Painting is proceeding slowly, but tonight my half-finished Bloodletters are going for a little skirmish - my first game with Daemons... It's a Combat Patrol themed event, 500pts, no 2+ / 3++ saves, no models with 3 wounds or more, no named characters, no fliers, no vehicles with more than 33 armour. 1-2 Troops, 0-1 of everything else. For Khorne that leaves Bloodletters, foot Heralds, and Flesh Hounds. And I don't have any Hounds...

Khorne: Converting: Counts-as Bloodcrushers

My initial 1,500pts force is going to feature 2 units of Bloodletters, 2 Bloodthirsters, 3 Soul Grinders (using my Daemon-Knights models) and a unit of Bloodcrushers. So here are the Bloodcrushers, and I have a valid army!

Khorne: Converting: Converted Bloodletters

To use my Bloodthirsters outside of an Unbound game, I'll need some troops. I want them to have more of a mini-Bloodthirster feel than the normal Bloodletters, more like the previous version of Bloodletters. And the best way to do that seemed to be Beastman Gors.

So, I'm making Bloodthirsters. But how to use them in games? I've been looking at 1,500 pts lists:

AdMech: Battle Report: 1,500 pts vs Necrons

This was the biggest battle I've yet played with my Adeptus Mechanicus, pulling them all together for a 1,500 pt game- once again using Codex: Space Wolves. I was playing against Deke, a GW Oxford staff member. He's got a Necron army, and for this game we were road-testing some unofficial Oxford house rules for the Necrons. The main changes were that Gauss weapons were Rending but a bit more short-ranged, Lords were WS & BS 5, and Wraiths had Power Weapons. Plus there were points increases and so on, but that gives you the basic idea!

AdMech: Army List: CSM 1,500 pts

Thus far my Adeptus Mechanicus been pretending to be Space Wolves, with a mix of Grey Hunters and Long Fangs. But I'm currently building a Nightbringer conversion and some assault praetorians- once they're done, I'd like to try out Chaos Space Marines. Here's a quick 1,500 pts list I worked out.

AdMech: Battle Report: 1500 pts Doubles vs Chaos Space Marines (loss)

So, part 2 of GW Oxford's campaign. 1,500 pts per side, in pairs (so 750pts per player). Once again the Adeptus Mechanicus were Space Wolves, paired with Uncle Rich's Deathwing. This time, we were up against the Iron Warrior Chaos Space Marines.

AdMech: Battle Report: 1500 pts Doubles vs Orks (loss)

GW Oxford has been having a campaign recently. Most of us have been playing in doubles, 750pts per player so 1500pts per side. I've been using my Adeptus Mechanicus as Space Wolves, paired with my old friend "Uncle Rich" and his Deathwing Terminator Army.

Army List: Stormboyz 1,500 pts

I've been playing against orks a lot recently, and I'd love to collect another orky army sometime. I'm really impressed by orky combat prowess. Stormboyz combine this with jumppacks - hurrah!

The army plan is simple. The Stormboyz jump all over the place and cause havoc, looking to get 1st or 2nd turn assaults. The Boyz come in behind, hold objectives, and so on- with the Big Mek protecting them.

It's a 1490 pts list at the mo.

HQ [110]
Big Mek, Burna, Kustom Force Field, Eavy Armour - 110

TROOPS [555]
30 Slugga Boyz, inc 3 rokkit launchers and 1 nob w/power klaw - 245
20 Slugga Boyz, inc 2 rokkit launchers and 1 nob w/power klaw - 155

ImperialGrots: Army List: Spearhead 2,000 pts

So, Spearhead is the big excitement this month! For Imperial Guard fans, Spearhead is obviously brilliant news. Of course I want to make an army of tanks! This army is 1,980 pts and has all my tanks: 6 normal Russes, 2 Exterminators, and 3 Basilisks. Ouch!

AdMech: Army List & Battle Report: 1,000 pts vs Dark Eldar (win)

My Adeptus Mechanicus were designed to be quite flexible as to which codex they could count as: they could be Space Marines, Space Wolves, Dark Angels, Witchhunters or even Necrons. In their first outing they were Space Wolves- largely because Grey Hunters are better than Tactical Squads, whilst Iron Priests & Long Fangs are just so cheap!
